Who are we?

Since 2011, we offer bespoke solutions to tourism operators who want to make a tangible commitment to sustainable development.

To reduce the environmental footprint of tourist activities, we need to address all aspects of our activities : energy and water use, sustainable purchasing, waste management. At Betterfly Tourism, we’re committed to driving the tourism industry’s transition to a more prosperous future by reducing its environmental impact and costs through straightforward and accessible solutions.

Our name is inspired by the theory of the butterfly effect, to underline the importance of taking small steps and know that each step can end up having an important influence overall.

We have also chosen the universal image of the butterfly to encourage as many professionals as possible to begin this transition towards sustainable tourism.

        Our background in key dates

Jul 2014: Company founded under the name EVEA Tourisme, a subsidiary of the eco-design and life-cycle analysis consultancy EVEA.

July 2014: Hubert Vendeville takes over the company.

November 2015: Sponsor of the only official side event on sustainable tourism at COP21 in Paris.

November 2016: EVEA Tourisme becomes Betterfly Tourism and issues the first 10 labels to Moroccan hotels at COP22.

November 2016: More than 450 customers use our 3 software packages.

July 2018: 1st round of fund-raising worth €400,000 from the INCO positive impact fund. Deployment in the Seychelles.

Feb 2021: Launch of the Betterfly Academy after training over 200 professionals in sustainable tourism in 2020
