A science-based, easy-to-undersand environmental labelling
The environmental footprint score issued by Betterfly Tourism, enables hotels and other tourist accommodations to measure and display the environmental impact of an overnight stay. Based on ADEME’s official standards, this evaluation provides a rating from A to E according to four key indicators:
- Carbon Impact (CO₂)
- Water consumption
- Depletion of energy resources
- Proportion of organic and eco-labelled products
Since its launch in 2009 as part of a government initiative and fully aligned with international guidelines, this environmental certification raises consumer awareness about the impacts of their stay. Using our online software, we calculate and certify this score with full transparency, using the IMPACTS® LCA database and ADEME’s standards.

We help you collect the required data (occupancy rates, services, equipment, water and energy bills, food, linen and cleaning products purchases) - Audit
We conduct an audit of your facility to understand your work practices (e.g., cleaning and maintenance processes, breakfast management), your equipment (list of equipment used, usage times, water and energy consumption), your purchases (e.g., amenities, linen, food products) and to verify the data. - Environmental label edition and action plan
We edit your environmental label based on your data. You can download your label and share your score with your customers, teams and shareholders.
We analyze the data based on the four key indicators and present a customized action plan to minimize your environmental impact. - Continuous Improvement
We offer monitoring to assess your progress through the annual update of your environmental label.
